Blog of the Week: I'm Living Proof That God Has a Sense of Humor
Choosing a Blog of the Week is not as easy as it looks.
(It's freakin' hard, quite frankly.)
I read some exceptionally wonderful and frequently updated blogs (which are 2 of my criteria), and, at some point, ALL of them will be chosen, so please don't get your feelings hurt. I'm getting to you, I promise!
This week's Blog of the Week belongs to Helene at I'm Living Proof that God Has a Sense of Humor.
I was trying to remember how I found Helene's blog, and I believe it was through another of my favorite bloggers. Helene, maybe you remember when I made my first comment??
Anywho. Helene is an incredibly busy stay-at-home-mom to TWO sets of TWINS. And she has awesome, hilarious, and downright delightful stories about the things that her crazy kids think, say, and do.
What really got my attention this week, though, was her post about her husband not remembering her middle name or where she was born. After this startling revelation, she went on to ask him some basic questions about herself (they've been together 14 years, btw) and was surprised by some of the results.
After reading that post, I was on the phone with Philip (who I've been dating for 11 months):

Me: Hey, what's my middle name?
Philip: What? Why are you asking me that?
Me: I'm just curious if you know it.
Philip: Is this a test or something?
Me: I'll explain in a minute. What's my middle name?
Philip: It's like a famous actor's last name.
Me: Really? Which one?
Philip: Murray. Bill Murray. Your middle name is Marie.
Me: Where was I born?
Philip: Idaho. What is all this about, anyway?
Me: I was just wondering how well you know me.

At the time, I was impressed. But now I'm starting to wonder if all those questions at the beginning were a stall tactic while he looked up my Facebook page...hmmm...
But, I digress. This post isn't about me. It's about Helene! And she is awesome and funny, and, as if she was anticipating this

Wow, Karen...this was such a huge surprise!!!! Thank you for all the nice things you said!!! I'll have to show this to my kids someday and say "See, someone in the world thinks I'm cool"!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, I'd be suspicious as well about Philip sneaking a peek at your Facebook page while stalling you with the whole "famous actor" line!

I think it's kinda funny that his mnemonic device for remembering your middle name is Bill Murray
