I'm Honestly Creative!
Honest Scrap from R Max (who is awesome and you should all check out her hilarious blog!):
The definition I found for this award goes as follows:“When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about
it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such
acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows he or she is real.
Choose a minimum of seven (7) blogs that you find brilliant in content or
design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because
you don’t have seven (7) friends. Show the seven (7) random victims’ names and
links and leave a comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest
Weblog.” Well, there’s no prize, really, but they can keep the nifty icon. Next,
in your blog, list at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it
on!”
Luckily, I do have 7 creative and honest friends to pass this award along to. In fact, I have many more than 7, so this presented a bit of a challenge. Don't feel left out if I didn't pick you this time! I chose these 7 for never being afraid to tell it like it is:
1. Barefoot Blogger
2. Katherine
3. Hotpants
4. Helene
5. Greedygrace
6. Mandy
7. Stephanie
And now for the 10 Honest Truths...
1. I write with my left hand, but play most sports with my right.
2. I've participated in NaNoWriMo four times, which means I have 4 dreadfully awful novels in desperate need of rewrites.
3. I absolutely hate Twilight and think Robert Pattinson is very overrated. Although I did think he was good in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I think Luke Grimes would have been a better Edward.
4. My brother and I used to watch Star Wars instead of Saturday Morning Cartoons.
5. I rarely watch music videos because so many of them are garbage that I am afraid I won't be able to listen to the songs anymore.
6. I've been in love with Tom Cruise since I was 9 years old and my dad took me and my brother to see Top Gun after the Pt. Magu airshow.
7. I have had one of my Netflix movies since November. It's The Kite Runner, in case you're wondering. I haven't been in the mood for a movie you have to read and that will probably be depressing.
8. There are 13 shows that I watch regularly. (They're not all on at the same time of year, though!) It used to be more like 20. And I'm seriously considering dropping Heroes because Peter just sounds too much like Drake Hogestyn these days. Oh, yeah. And it's boring.
9. It is my life's goal to appear (and win!) on Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune. Or both.
10. My biggest fear is that I'll never get to have kids.
The other award I was given recently was:
Kreativ Blogger from Gina and Helene! They are both so, so great and you should check out their blogs, too!
The rules say I have to list 7 things I love and then pass it on to 7 bloggers I love.
Seeing as it is the first day of Spring, I find myself in a happy, celebratory mood. So coming up with 7 things I love was incredibly easy:
1. The changing of the seasons.
People make fun of me for saying this since most think California only has 2 seasons: perfect and freakin' hot. But I love the subtle transitions from winter to Spring that most people wouldn't notice if they're not from around here.
2. My car.
I think I've made my point on this pretty clear with my post from a couple of days ago.
3. Blogging.
It's a challenge to try to be funny on a regular basis. Actually, someetimes it's really hard. But I love having an outlet for writing down my thoughts and feelings about everything from how I spent the weekend to how annoyed I get when people talk to me in public restrooms. And I LOVE reading other peoples' blogs.
4. Girl Scout Cookies.
'Nuff said.
5. Politics.
I don't like where the country is headed right now. Frankly, it frightens me. But I still love arguing talking about it.
6. Ghost Hunters.
It's one of the best reality shows ever. I used to be completely freaked out when I watched it, and I would NEVER watch in a house that I suspected might be haunted. But now I've gotten totally into the and it's actually made me less afraid of ghosts, if you can believe that. (And yes, I believe in ghosts.)
7. LOST.
It's the best show on TV. Seriously. And not just because of super hot Matthew Fox the Hawaiian sets and attractive stars. I love that so much of the show is completely unpredictable and the writing is fantastic. And Matthew Fox.
And now, the 7 Kreativ Bloggers I choose are:
1. Funky Bag Freak
2. Denae
3. Janet
4. Michelle
5. Mom in High Heels
6. Trublubyu
7. Shorty
Wow! I guess that was kind of a long post! Now you can see why it took me so long to get around to doing them. But it was a lot of fun and thanks again to the Bloggers that love me enough to give me some recognition!
Well-deserved!
ReplyDeleteNaNoWriMo 4 times?!! Wow! That's fantastic! They may need rewrites, but you still got it out of you, which is difficult for many people. *round of golf claps*
Luke Grimes is not that different looking from RPattz in my opinion. I still think Rob is hotter though. I watch Brothers & Sisters. Love that show! I have a DVR problem. I watch too many shows. I can barely keep up.
ReplyDeleteI keep Netflix movies for forever. I have Vanity Fair at home now. I could care less about the actual movie, but RPattz is in it. I admit I have a problem.
Thank you for the award! I do have to agree with you about Ghost Hunters. It has become one of my favorite television shows...it doesn't hurt that I find Ghost Hunter Steve extremely HOT!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm with you on the direction of the country...hopefully 2010 will be a repeat of 1994!
Oh oh oh! I feel like I should be doing a parade wave right now....(I am fixing my hair and making sure I don't have anything stuck in my teeth!!)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for this award....I have never gotten one before.....YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
OK, OK, OK, I am calming down....phew....I think I am sweating.
I am so excited and will be getting this award up over the weekend and you can bet your patootie that I will be linking right back atcha.
xox
*~Michelle~*
Akilah: Thank you! And yeah, 4 times. 4 Novembers where I was hidden away and avoiding everyone. So. Much. Fun!
ReplyDeleteHotpants: Luke does look a lot like Robert. It's just that Luke actually looks like he could be 17, whereas Robert looks 25. And since Luke is 22, he will still look 17 while they finish the rest of the movies.
Amanda: I go through withdrawals during Ghost Hunters International! I wish Steve would do both shows! And I agree with you about next year. Rasmussen makes it look promising.
Michelle: Really? It's your first award?? Wow! That makes me feel special too!
Oh, Karen, I am so flattered that you would offer me an award! Here's the thing: I'm terrible about these kinds of things. I have a memory like a sieve, and an overactive guilt gland that makes me feel bad for every one I don't mention in the 'pay it forward' part of things, but also makes me feel bad if I DON'T pay it forward!
ReplyDeleteAaaugh! But I will do my best to remember this one, and if I don't, please forgive me, knowing that I'm feeling rotten about the whole thing!
Your blog is terrific, BTW!
Cool!! Thanks for thinking of me for the award!!
ReplyDeleteGood God, is Drake Hogestyn still on Days? Hasn't he died like 27 times now?
I agree that Robert Pattinson is over-rated; however, when I saw the movie I was definitely guilty of falling in love with him but it was probably the IDEA of him. You know, the dark mystery vampire guy and how cool and suave he is. My husband can't fly through the air and doesn't glitter in the sunlight...so you know, that kinda excited me.
You are so funny! I feel the same way about Twilight. I have been ostracized by the whole Relief Society because of my views... and I don't give a crap because lots of women liking it doesn't make it good!
ReplyDelete(Just joking about the ostracizm but they are a bit scared of me)
Thank you so much for this award! I'm truly flattered! And, I enjoy your blog very much!!!
ReplyDeleteMore to come!
ReplyDeleteI have an award for you over on my blog, Karen.
I'm coming over from Blog Stalkers Unite, asking for your help. I am in the running for a round trip airfare paid ticket to Connecticut, to meet a friend I became acquainted with through blogging. She is a super fun person and is holding this contest. I entered a funny story titled "Grapejuice Floaties, Now Marry Me." The person whose story receives the most votes will win a trip to meet this generous lady, whom I'm hoping to meet. The voting ends tonight I believe. I am ahead for now but there is a story coming up from behind out of nowhere and I would so, so, appreciate your help. Her blog is www.becausemomsaidso.blogspot.com and the voting is on the sidebar on the right. "Grapejuice, Floaties" Just go there and cast a vote for me, please. Thanks so much-you're awesome! ♥
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your awards and thanks for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteI saw Twilight over the weekend. Hated it. Loved the books, though. Yes, Robert Pattinson was WAY overrated. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteDeNae: You have a great blog and deserve it! And paying it forward is entirely up to you. Don't feel bad if you don't do it!
ReplyDeleteHelene: You deserve an award just for being you! And yes, he's still on Days although I heard a rumor he would be leaving (again!).
R Max: I feel that way too. It's almost like not liking Twilight is some sort of dirty little secret, isn't it??
Shorty: You're welcome and thank you!
Akilah Sakai: Wow! Really? Thanks!
Susette: I'm so sorry that I missed the deadline for voting, but I'll check out your story anyway.
Anne: Thanks and you're welcome!
Em: I've been going back and forth trying to decide if I want to bother with seeing the movie. Part of me wants to out of morbid curiosity, but I'm fully expecting to hate it.
just tracing the origin of this blog award! :D
