Resting

Note: Two more days to enter my Patrick Wilson DVD giveaway! Enter here.

After a hectic week (I didn't get home until at least 10pm EVERY night), I was beyond ready for some R&R over the weekend.

Friday was nice because I didn't actually have to be anywhere. So I hung out at home, watched a couple of my shows and, even though I was completely exhausted, still stayed up until, like, 12:30 in the morning. Why do I do that to myself???

On Saturday I woke up at 6:30. Yeah. Nice job sleeping in, eh? I didn't have anywhere to be, made double sure to turn off my alarm clocks (yeah, I've got more than one during the week--4:30 is really early!) and still managed to wake up before the sun did. Since I was wide awake, I went downstairs to discover that my roommate, Decay, had hooked up the wireless router for me overnight! Internet in my room! Wahoo!

(Just what I need in order to control my internet addiction: more access!)

Anyway, I played around with it for a little while before going back to bed and sleeping a little longer. Like, maybe 45 minutes or so.

(What is the DEAL??)

When I got up again at 8:30, I took my time getting ready and then headed off to Philip's. Even though I had adamantly insisted I didn't want to do ANYTHING this weekend, I still took the time to actually fix up my hair, put on makeup, and all that. I realized I have been total Frump Girl lately and wanted to change it up a bit.

I got to Philip's a little before 12:30 where we did practically nothing (unless you count catching up on The Office and 30 Rock as something) before heading to the coast. We are major beach people and wanted to get over there in time to watch the sunset. I love watching the sunset, but I'm actually more fascinated by the surfers. We usually go to La Jolla where there are always at least a dozen or so surfers in the water at the end of the day. It was beautiful and relaxing and exactly what I needed after the week I'd had. I imagine that is how every day ends in heaven.

We headed back inland (by way of Bronx Pizza [which happens to be the best I've ever had!]) and fell asleep about 30 minutes into watching The Princess Bride. Neither of us was asleep very long, though, because we woke up at about the halfway point and decided we NEEDED ice cream. And then we managed to finish the movie without falling asleep again. I sure do love that flick.

Yesterday was even lazier. We set the alarm to go to church (which starts at the evil hour of 8am). I don't know what happened, but I didn't wake up until almost 10. I knew I was exhausted, but seriously! I haven't missed church in weeks. But then, of course, my ward doesn't start until 11.

We didn't leave the house until almost three. With Philip's nephew, Wes, along for the ride, we took off to Fallbrook to check out a house Philip has had his eye on. We drove around the neighborhood for awhile, and there were a LOT of For Sale signs up and down the streets. It's a good and a bad sign for someone looking to buy a house.

Anywho, we had an awesome steak dinner back at Casa Philip, and watched Drop Dead Gorgeous, which was funny, but missing something, I think. Then I had to get back home so that I could start my week over again.

And, along the way, I got stopped at the Border Checkpoint. But that's a story for another day!

  2. Stopped at a checkpoint? Hmm ... I'd stop you for falling asleep during "The Princess Bride." That should be a felony! ;)

I've never seen the sunset at a beach. From movies, I know it's gorgeous!

  3. Kristina: It's a pretty good one.

Akilah: I know! Luckily, I ended up only sleeping through about 30 minutes or so, but still! And honestly, sunsets at the beach are spectacular. The movies don't even do them justice!

  4. YOU FELL ASLEEP DURING THE PRINCESS BRIDE...INCONCEIVABLE!

The Princess Bride is one of my FAVORITES! I think Mandy Patinkin (sp?) is incredibly hot in that movie.

  5. Amanda: I know! I have since repented! And Mandy Patinkin is particularly attractive as Inigo Montoya. What I can't get over is how YOUNG Cary Elwes and Robin Wright were.
