Confession Wednesday: My Celebrity Crush Completes Me
I am sorry I'm so late today, everyone! Internet access at my house has gone on a sudden, unplanned vacation. And I apparently jinxed us last night when Katie assured me that service should be restored "any time" and I said "that means Thursday." When it still didn't work this morning, I cursed my psychic powers and was forced to do something productive with my time before getting ready for work.
(And by "productive" I may or may not mean "watching a few shows so they could be deleted from the DVR.")
(What? It's a shared system. I'm trying to be a courteous roommate.)
Anyways, it's Confession Wednesday again. Finally. We got pre-empted last week because of my fabulous blog makeover, but we're back today and the theme is Celebrity Crushes!
When I was 9 years old, my recently divorced dad took my brother and me to a movie I'm pretty sure my mom didn't want us to see, given it's PG-13 rating. We spent the day at the Point Magu Airshow, awestruck by the monstrous cargo planes and thrilled when the Blue Angels passed overhead. I used to love going to airshows as a kid and Point Magu never disappointed.
After the show, my dad took us to see Top Gun.
Now, I get a lot of flack for this these days, but even at nine years old, I knew there was something special about Tom Cruise.

He was funny and charming and a little bit mischievous. It was love at first sight, even if I was way too young to know what that even was.
In junior high and high school, while my friends and I were combing through the latest Tiger Beat and Bop for pictures of the New Kids on the Block and the cast of Beverly Hills, 90210--
(Holy crap! Are you watching the new 90210? Can you believe Teddy told Naveed?? So much for "No Drama Adrianna.")
Ahem.
--I was always on the lookout for pictures of Tom Cruise. For some reason, none of my friends seemed to share my teenage obsession.
I've seen most of his movies and I used to try to watch almost every televised episode he gave. When he appeared on Inside the Actors Studio, I was riveted.
I know he's had an...um...interesting...couple of years and he has said some things that may have made some people think he's crazy, but I love him. Always have. Always will.
So...who's YOUR celebrity crush? We want to know! Leave a comment or blog about it and link back up using the MckLinky.
