Friday Goal Post

Okay, first off, WAY TO GO, ANGELS!!

I had an amazing time at the Star Wars concert last night, but my brother and I really were keeping one eye on the show and the other on the Angels/Red Sox game. Both were AWESOME!

I have to go through my pics from last night's show, but I'll get that done so that I can post them really soon. Such an incredible show and if you get a chance to see it, you really should. I feel like watching the entire series this weekend after last night's concert. I realized it's been awhile.

It's been a really long week. I didn't even go home between Tuesday and Thursday. When I got home last night and climbed into my own bed, I realized how much I had missed it. It's been a long week.

Anyways, I'm keeping this kind of short today. Just updating my goals.

Oh, before I do that, I want to THANK and WELCOME my brand new followers! I know I haven't gotten over to visit y'all yet, but I really am THRILLED to have you here!

So...

  1. Read 10 books, 3 of which must be: Atonement, The Big House, and The Scarlet Pimpernel. 1210--So far I've finished The Rose Labyrinth and The Shack. I'm moving on with my list, but I do intend to go back and finish Emma.
  2. Watch 12 movies from my Netflix list. Individual discs from a TV series don't count, but the entire season does. 3/12--Haven't gotten to watch my TV shows this week, let alone any of my movies!
  3. Finish raising the funds for my Habitat for Humanity trip to Papua New Guinea.--Still working on it.
  4. Renew my passport.--Sending in my application this week.
  5. Get my blog made over. I finished one! And I still find myself just looking at it.
  6. Replace the windshield on my car.
  7. Send Philip's miscellaneous stuff back to him.
  8. Go to at least one Stake/Ward Single's Activity. (That's probably the scariest one on this list!)
  9. Go to St. George to see Kelli's new place!
  10. Go to the gym a total of 50 times. 3/50 I really need to get myself back in gear!
  11. Back up all of the pictures from my camera and laptop onto discs or an external hard drive.
  12. Take Little Sister to Knott's Berry Farm.
  13. Cook dinner at least twice a week.
  14. Get the Writing Group back together and finally finish this novel! We're meeting again today! But, of course, my printer's not working, so I think I'm going to end up talking about my NaNovel instead of my current work-in-progress.
  15. Participate in and WIN NaNoWriMo for the FIFTH year running. Changed my plot to one I'm even more excited about. And I got in touch with some Orange County WriMos, so I'm meeting new people. 22 more days!
So, that's where I'm at. I'm starting to see some progress here and it's good. I think I need to spend a little more time with the TV turned off so that I can spend more time reading and writing. It's just that, after a long day, it's so much easier to sit down to the Jim and Pam wedding (which I haven't seen yet, btw) than to sit down and read a book about a guy hanging out with God all weekend. I dunno...just sayin'.

  1. My DVR didn't record The Office! I guess I'll have to watch it online tonight.

I hope this episodes redeems this season, which has sucked.

  5. Yay. Everyone's talking about NaNoWriMo. I participated last year. I guess I will this year. I think I have to...or I'll feel left out!

  7. Do you go to singles ward every Sunday, or the family ward? My bff has this same problem: the family ward has people her age, but they're all married. The singles ward has all the single peeps, but they're all 10 years younger!

Anyway, if you went to the singles ward on Sundays, it would probably be easier for you to attend a Stake event.

    Good luck!

  8. Wow Kar! I really like what you've done here! Your blog looks so cool! And I'm so happy that I'm on your list to come and visit! I was just thinking I need to get you here! Have you seen the office yet? I was a little disappointed with the Jim & Pam's wedding. Anyone else?

  9. Mmm there is nothing like being back in your own bed after being away.

And as much as I loved the wedding, I was also a tiiiiny bit disappointed. I thought it would be bigger.
