Staying Current

Happy Monday morning, everyone!

I hope you all had a great Halloween. Mine was...well...it wasn't exactly what I planned on, but whatever. For the first time ever I got to see The Nephew on Halloween. He made such a cute scary pirate.

And for all of you that are participating in NaNoWriMo this month or NaNoBloMo (or whatever it's called!), I hope your first day was great. My current word count stands at somewhere around 3000, so I'm a tiny bit ahead. Which is good. I actually decided to up the ante on myself just a bit this year and write 60,000 words instead of 50K. So far, so good. Although I think it is possible that it's some of the worst writing I've ever done in my life!

Anyway, it's Monday morning and I'm tired and I haven't done one of these in awhile, so I thought this seemed like a good day for it:

Up next will be DESERT SOLITAIRE by Edward Abbey--It's for Read a Book, Save a Brain.

  2. Fun post! I may have to copy this and do it myself.

Oh my, I LOVE Ryan Reynolds. He's been on my "list of 3" for awhile now. I still need to see The Proposal. Apparently everyone else wants to see it too because it's never available at RedBox.

I saw four huge shopping carts full of leftover Halloween candy. Only $1.75 per bag. It was difficult not to purchase any. :)

Congrats on being ahead on your writing. That's awesome.

  3. I have been reading The Lost Symbol when there has been down time at work, so it's been rather slow going. It's good so far!

  4. I really want to see The Men Who Stare at Goats! I can't wait to see what you think of it.

Ryan Reynolds is pretty darn cute!

  7. I love that Michael Buble CD. Got it for my birthday. I'm also digging that Black Eyed Peas song. Have you seen the flash mob from Oprah? Super cool!

  8. Hi! Thanks for the visit and the comment! So, you're doing that novel in a month thing too? Me, no, but I keep reading about it on various blogs. Kudos to you! I have been writing my memoirs for two months and am only on six thousand words, give or take...have any secrets to share? This is my brain, wrapping around the thought of 60,000 words in a single month: derrrrr...I am also drooling.

  9. I love this!! You'll have to review the Dan Brown book when you're done--I haven't read that one yet!

And I love getting to know people through Twitter. LOVE it. :)

  10. Just finished The Lost Symbol - it's a good fall read for sure and I can totally sympathize on the leftover Halloween Candy - it's all I've been eating the last few days. Oh well I figure the sooner I gobble through it the sooner it will be gone :)

  11. Good job being ahead in NaNo - I bought The Lost Symbol when it came out but I haven't felt like reading it yet, can't wait to hear what you think!

  12. I LOVE Ryan Reynolds...I was watching a re-run of Amityville Horror on Halloween night and Tim made fun of me. I was like, "I'm not watching it for the entertainment..I'm watching it for those couple scenes where he takes his shirt off".

  13. I plan on reading The Lost Symbol. Just as soon as I get back to reading.

And I really haven't decided how I feel about Men Who Stare At Goats. I'm worried it will be as weird as Burn After Reading, which was just too strange for me.

  16. Great list- I agree about "Use Somebody" (can't get it out of my head, and I don't want to!), Ryan Reynolds (that lucky little ScarJo), and Coke- unfortunately, I can't indulge in the real stuff b/c I have a baby who would be up all through the night if I drank it! So I actually am the only person I know who would dare to drink "Diet Caffeine-Free Coke"- but seriously, faux Coke is better than no Coke, right? Thanks for visiting me from SITS :)

  17. Good luck with your NaNovel :)

I got my U2 tickets for next June today. And I had to think of you and all the folks that got to see them just a couple of weeks ago.

  22. Ryan Reynolds is hot...but when he was a kid he was on a Canadian TV show that I watched...I think it was called Fifteen? I have always thought of him as a kid since!

  30. Stopping by from SITS and i couldn't help but notice the NaNoWriMo mention. I'm not participating, but I put out an APB on my blog the other day for anyone who was--I was curious to hear about the experience from those who are participating. I'll have to check back for updates on your progress!
