Confession Wednesday: Holiday Tunes

Confession Wednesday Button
Do you cringe if you hear Christmas music before Thanksgiving?

Do you secretly keep your Christmas playlist on iPod all year long?

Favorites? Least favorites?

I absolutely LOVE Christmas music. It makes me happy. Year round. No joke. When it comes to Christmas music, I listen to it all the time, and not just in December.

One of my favorite CDs is the soundtrack to Love Actually, which also happens to be one of my favorite Christmas movies. But anyway, I love the soundtrack. It has all sorts of awesome songs like Kelly Clarkson's "The Trouble With Love Is," The Calling's "Wherever You Will Go," and Eva Cassidy's "Songbird." The last three songs are Christmas tunes, including the fictional Billy Mack's "Christmas is all Around" and Olivia Olson singing "All I Want For Christmas is You."

While I love the entire CD, I seriously listen to the last two songs on repeat over and over and over again. I don't know why. I just love them. They make me smile. Even if it's 100 degrees outside and July. I don't care. Even with the windows down I'll blare the stereo and sing at the top of my lungs:

If you really love Christmas, come on and let it snoooooooowwwww!

I really appreciate the day after Thanksgiving when it becomes socially acceptable to rock the Christmas tunes 24 hours a day.

And I especially appreciate living in California, where it's possible to rock the Christmas tunes with the windows down in December.

Okay, you know you've got something to confess. Grab the button above and link you Holiday Tune confessions down below!

My Christmas carol confession is that I HATE HATE HATE to sing Christmas carols....AND I HATE it when people come to my house to sing Christmas carols....should I stand there staring at them? Smile? Sway? Join in? AWKWARD!!! I like so many Christmas songs, though, and "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee is my very most favorite! Every year you've got to hear at LEAST one time each: "Blue Christmas" by Elvis, "Holly Jolly Christmas" by Burl Ives, "The Christmas Song" by Nat King Cole, "Merry Christmas Darling" by the Carpenters, and "The Little Drummer Boy" by that boys' choir. I agree with you about California Christmases... nothing beats singing about snow then going outside in shorts and a t-shirt..... WE LOVE IT!

I'm always waiting to hear the great songs like "I want a hippopotomus for Christmas, only a hippopotomus will do..."

That makes the holiday for me.

That song and Eat 'n Park's commercial where the little tree bends over to pick up the star. I have that one on the DVR.

I love Christmas, but I hate the music. However, that song in Love, Actually (in the very beginning)...I don't know why, but I like it! LOL

I like Christmas music after Thanksgiving, but I do get antsy that week of Thanksgiving :-)

my faves are Darlene Love's Christmas (Baby Please Come Home), John Lennon's So This is Christmas and Paul McCartney's A Wonderful Christmas Time.

I love Christmas music all year long. One of my favorites is Loreena McKEnnett's Christmas album. It is awesome. And yes, I do have Christmas music on my ipod year round! My neighbors all think I'm a freak, too, because I decorate the day after Halloween! I figure, let the Christmas spirit last as long as possible.

I like Christmas music in moderation. The problem is that working in a counseling office, we keep the radio on all the time so people can't hear the sessions.

And my supervisor loves to keep it on the station that plays Christmas music 24/7. For eight hours.

I don't want to hate Baby Jesus, so I can't listen to it off work time.

I actually got satellite radio specifically because my two favorite radio stations switched to ALL Christmas music on NOVEMBER 1.

I can go for Christmas music while I'm decorating, attending holiday parties, or opening gifts. But two months before? No thank you. At least not all the time.

But I do love the movie Love Actually!

If this is truly Confession Wednesday, then here is mine...I haven't seen Love Actually. But after reading all the comments, I will try to rectify that as soon as possible. Possibly next weekend.

And I love Christmas music. Love! I start singing it as I do the dishes right around Thanksgiving.

I listen to them the entire month of December. I can't handle them year round though. I think I'd feel weird.
