Hodge Podge

My brain is fried and I don't know if I can muster the mental energy to formulate an entire post today, so instead I'm just going to talk about a few random things that I'm thinking.

♦I finished NaNoWriMo! Sadly, I did not reach my personal goal of 60K words in November, but I did cross the 50K finish line at 11:05pm last night. My grand total is 50,097. Ten thousand of which were written in approximately four hours yesterday. My fingers felt like they were going to fall off by the end of it and my right hand is still a little numb this morning. But I finished. I have another spectacularly awful novel to add to my collection.

♥The votes are in and it looks like Egypt is the big winner! I'm really excited because that was actually my first choice too. Well, it was until my bloggy buddy Cairo Typ0 and her hubby up and decided to move to Norway. No worries, though. I'm super jazzed about going to Egypt. I'm applying today, and if I'm not picked for that team, second place is Nepal, which was, quite amazingly, my second choice! Do y'all know me or what??

♣Tomorrow my brother is getting sworn in as a lawyer! I never had any doubt he would pass the California BAR exam, but it's still weird to think that tomorrow my little brother is going to be a fully licensed and totally legit attorney-at-law. I remember the days when I wanted to go to law school. Seeing all the work he's put into it, I know I never would have survived. I am too much of a procrastinator and general slacker. But I'm seriously so proud of him.

♠Can someone please explain to me how the heck it's December already??

That's about all for now. I'm going to go stick my fingers in an ice bucket now and try to restore some use to them! Have a great day!

Congrats on surviving NaNoWriMo! I don't even know where I'd start with a novel so I'm super impressed.

And I really hope you're accepted into the Egypt team. I always wanted to participate in Habitat for Humanity, but never have because of timing or money. So good luck :)

P.S. Can't help you on the December thing. I'm just as baffled as you are.

Congratulations on finishing NaNoWriMo!! I tried it for the second time this year, but like last year, I lost it around Thanksgiving. I just had too much to do for that week, and couldn't get in the writing time. So I'm really impressed!

Congratulations on finishing NaNoWriMo! That's a huge accomplishment, and I'm sure it's not awful. Are we going to get a glimpse at the novel?

And congratulations to your brother too!

I hope you make the Egypt team, even though I voted for Botswana. :-)
