Seven Days

CAN. NOT. WAIT.

While there is some haziness to my memory of exactly when I saw the first promotional trailer for this new fall series starring the guy from Party of Five and that other guy from Lord of the Rings, but I do remember that I was sold on LOST the moment I heard Dominick Monaghan utter the infamous line, "Guys. Where are we?"

I waited MONTHS for the series premier, anticipation building throughout the summer. I had very little idea what it was about--

(There's some people. And they're on a plane. And it crashes. On an island.)

--and I didn't care because it was going to be amazing.

I know there are a lot of fans out there that have only kept going because they've already invested so much time in the show, but I've loved every minute of it. I've been confused and befuddled and, well, lost more times than I can count. I have very few solid guesses about where they're going with this. But I'm jazzed.

Sticking with Lost has been like reading the Harry Potter series as the books were released. Each season has answered burning questions, while asking many more. And with each finale, we know we're getting another step closer to the end, to knowing everything we need to know about all the mysteries and the riddles and puzzles.

It's been an exciting ride.

And, seriously, if I'm ever stranded on a tropical island in the middle of the South Pacific, I really hope it's with this guy:

In seven days, the end begins. What I've been waiting five years to see. I'm really excited. And I'm a little bit sad. Because in just a few short months, there will be no more guessing. No more confusion. No more wondering what could possibly happen next. And no more Matthew Fox on my TV every week. At least, until he gets his next gig.

One more awesome promo video for your viewing pleasure. I have a feeling this might be a bit of a spoiler, but at this point, all bets are off, right?

  2. B and I are rewatching last season to prepare for next season. I keep asking questions, and he keeps saying, "We don't know yet." That show drives me cuh-razy!!!

  3. Ohhhh, I can't wait either! I am sad it's the last season. I have hopes for Flash Forward taking it's spot though. Of course it would have been much better if Matthew Fox was on it!

I was a big Party of Five fan too. I thought it was great all of them got pretty famous. :-)

Waiting, and watching with you. Can't wait to GET LOST. And now I'm really curious about those promo videos. Hmmmm...

  4. I am sorry to say that I have never watched a single episode of Lost. It looks good, but since I missed the first season, I was always worried that I would never be able to figure out the back story. I plan to rent all the seasons and watch them all at once, someday when I have a free week!

  5. Enjoy your show, my friend. I can't say I've watched it, but that is certainly one fine fellow you are referencing. I know what it is like to anticipate a new season of a show, though. That's exactly how I feel about Design Star on HGTV! (I know, you can call me a total goober now.)

  6. I didn't watch LOST when it first came out. There was this show that everyone kept talking about, but I didn't know anything about it. Finally a friend let us borrow the first season on DVD. We've been hooked every since. I am so excited about the new season. It's written on our calender. But at the same time, what am I going to do without LOST to look forward to?

  7. I've always wanted to watch Lost, but have never had the time. Maybe some day. I'm glad you've gotten so much enjoyment from it.

  8. I never watched Lost. I've been seeing all the commercials for it lately, though, and I'm dying to watch this last season. Do you think I'd be too lost? (no pun intended)

  9. I couldn't watch it because of the whole plane crash thing. No way.

  10. Yummy. Matthew Fox.

One of these days I'm going to sit down and watch the entire show. I've always liked it but I was never faithful...I'm only faithful when I have shows on DVD that way I can fry my brain all in one sitting.

  11. I just don't have the same investment in the show that I used to. I still run home and watch "24", immediately, but not Lost. I can go several days before watching. Meh.

  13. Matthew Fox hold no fascination for me whatsoever. I find Jack annoying, and since I never watched Party of Five or anything I have no risidual affection to fall back on. Team Sawyer FTW!

I can't wait, either. Only a week! That makes me squeal!!

  14. Matthew Fox (or Charlie as I still insist on calling him) is my boyfriend. I too cannot wait!!!! We've actually been re-watching the entire series (started back in the summmer) and it's amazing how many little things I'd fogotten all about. I definately recommend watching the whole series once it's over, you'll have a whole new found appreciation for the story.

And I like your comparision to the Harry Potter books - it's totally true, it's amazing how everything from the beginning weaved into the end.

  15. I'm going to watch either Lost or 24 when I finish catching up on Dexter. I plan on watching both eventually.

  16. Maybe Lost will end with even MORE unanswered questions. Wouldn't that suck. You'd have to go on with the rest of your life always wondering what happened. :)

  17. I have to admit that I'm one of those fans who is sticking with this show because I've already invested so much time in it. But, your enthusiasm (and that photo of Matthew Fox) have started to get me excited for the Season Finale. Let the countdown begin....

  18. I was always lost watching LOST. More brain work than I like to do when sitting in front of the tube.

  19. I only saw bits of the first season while living at my sister's place, but I feel like I've seen more than that. We had a volunteer at the library where I worked who was obsessed with Lost. If she happened to be at lunch when I was she would ask if I watched Lost, and even though I said no (week after week, mind you) she would then proceed to offer up theories and ask me my opinion on different characters. That's about when I started eating lunch out in my car. I'm sure it's a great show, and clearly makes great conversation fodder.

  21. I feel the same way!! Very excited but sad to see it end but eager to get the answers- and there had damn well better be answers!! I'm still very bitter about the way Twin Peaks ended- cut short before its time but left with too many hanging story lines that will never be fulfilled!
