Karen's Blog of the Week: Pam's Perspective!

Hey, everyone!

I had an AMAZING birthday yesterday. Thank you ALL for the birthday wishes!

Jon said to tell you all hi and he's so sorry you couldn't make it to the show.

(At least, I'm pretty sure he was thinking it...)

I will give the full rundown tomorrow. For now, let me just say that I was fully and completely aware the moment I screamed my voice right out of my throat. It was during "Livin' On a Prayer," which happened to be the last song of the night.

(The choir director is not going to be too thrilled today. Whoops!)

Anyways, details later. For now, it's time to announce my new Blog of the Week: Pam's Perspective!

Now, I mentioned yesterday that Pam and I just discovered we are birthday twins! How awesome is that?

Well, being born on the 27th of February is not the only thing that makes Pam awesome. She also has a seriously great blog that you should go check out IMMEDIATELY.

She started out reviewing books for the library where she works, but now she writes about all kinds of things from theater reviews to observations of the world around her to life with two teenage daughters. Pam has a great blog. It's well-written, has a fabulous design, and she's just so darned likeable.

So, Happy Birthday, Pam! And enjoy your special week!

Wow! I'm so flattered and excited and flabbergasted. Thank you for featuring me. And for your kind words. It's been so much fun getting to know you through your blog. Who knew I had a birthday twin with so many of the same interests living in sunny CA. Now, if only yesterday had been my 33rd birthday as well. Ah... to be 33 again!

Hello Karen,

I read Pam's Perspective regularly so when she mentioned your blog as you share the same birth date I had to stop by to check you out. It is so great to find a new non mommy blogger, like myself, who has a view on life. Don't get me wrong, there a interesting mommy bloggers out there but since I'm not, it's not my first choice.

I'll add you to my reading list so that I can get to know you a little better. Please feel free to stop by my blog when you are able.

What I Just Watched at the Theater

Dark Shadows--This movie was just plain delightful for me. Funny and campy and I think I've finally found a vampire to love.
The Avengers--Good movie. Lots of fun. Some of the fight sequences felt like they dragged a bit, but the characters came together perfectly and Joss Whedon's dialogue is perfect. Saw it in 3D and it was worth the extra 3 bucks.
The Cabin in the Woods--This takes that creepy-cabin-by-the-lake story and gives it a big, weird twist. It was a fun movie to watch, but not my favorite project from the Whedon-verse. Again, great dialogue, though. Plus, Chris Hemsworth. I mean, hello.

What I Just Finished Reading

The Drawing of the Three by Stephen King--I just am having a really hard time getting into the Dark Tower series. I know people love them, but I'm not so sure they're for me.
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson--It took awhile to get into this, but once I did I could NOT put it down. Great mystery. Fascinating characters. A great story overall!
The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin--A pretty simple and straightforward memoir, but a really nice look at happiness, what it is, and how to have more of it in everyday life. I really liked this book and read it just when I needed to.
Twitterpated by Melanie Jacobson--A fun story with great characters, witty dialogue, and situations that are believable without being mundane. It's a perfect choice if you want to kick back with a happy story that will surely make you smile.
