Face it Friday! Week 11

Sometimes we can finish things from our list without even realizing it.

I was glancing through my 65 list the other day and realized that I had either finished or started or made a plan to do a couple of things that I had forgotten were even there.

It makes sense, though.

I look at that list a couple of times a week. Checking through it and thinking about what to do next. With sixty-five things, there's always something I can be working on.

Keeping our goals easily accessible is one of the keys to success. Seeing them frequently helps us stay focused on what we want to do. It also ingrains that list into your mind so that your brain can be working on it, figuring out ways to finish things. When we take a lot of time to review our goals, the process becomes subconscious to the point that you can actually finish things on your list without even realizing you were working on them.

Are you goals somewhere you can see them?

I posted mine on my sidebar for two reasons. One was so that all of you, my readers, could see what I'm up to and cheer me on as I cross things off.

(Or, in this case bold.)

But the other reason is that I'm on my own blog a lot. Usually even a couple of times a day. It's the easiest place for me to post the list because it's in a place I'm going to see all the time.

Where are your goals? Have you written them down? Have you posted them somewhere you can see them?

Even if they are personal and you don't want to share, it's still a good idea to keep them somewhere outside of your brain that you can review them from time to time. Otherwise, at the end of the week/month/year/decade, all you have is a mental list of a couple of things you were going to get around to.

So how has this week been for you? Anything new and exciting to report?

I'm sorry to say that I STILL haven't found out anything about my great-grandparents. Between being sick and coming down to the wire on play rehearsals--

(We perform NEXT WEEK!!)

--I have not taken the time to work on my family history. But I do have a few other projects in the works and I'll be excited to report on them in the next couple of weeks.

But Jennee and I want to know how you're doing! So be sure to post about your accomplishments and link up to the Blog Hop below!

  2. I really should add my list to my blog... that's a great idea! One thing I want to accomplish soooo very soooooon is putting some tutorials up on my site. I always appreciate other blog tutorials, and I know they take a lot of time to produce, which I guess is what's been holding me back. I think about it on a regular basis, I just need to get moving on it. I'm such a procrastinator some times!

  4. I have my goals as my computer screen saver and I have them written on a piece of paper by my mirror. This is new to me because I don't usually keep my goals out in the open, but I work on them more now that I do!

  5. I don't have them written down. But I need to. Especially financial ones.

  6. I don't have my goals written down. But I do have to report that I paid off hubby's dream car! I bought him a Model A and paid it off 1 year and 2 months ahead of schedule! It's such a beautiful show car, and I made #1 on his bucket list come true for him! Next, pay off my car by July. (That's very ambitious, but I'm convinced that I can do it.)
Still doing my water aerobics Mon-Wed-Fri. Also added Saturday morning in there.

  7. My husband always writes down his goals at the beginning of the year and puts them all over our bathroom! It drives me nutty. BUT he always accomplishes his goals and I don't so many there is something there :) Like last year he wanted to lose 40lbs. Which he did...never mind he gained it all right back at the end of the year. But now sitting there on my mirror is his goal to lose 40lbs again.

  8. It's great that you put your list on the blog. It does seem that would kind of keep you on track.

    I'm closer to making goals - I have a to-do list!

  9. Ugh. I need a list. I have sort of a mental one. I am constantly mentally berating myself for failing to do some of the very important things on my list (hello, student loan consolidation?). Ugh. Stress.

Go you on keeping up with your goals so amazingly well. Can't wait to hear about how the play goes (and see pictures?)!

  13. Man, I feel so bummed that I don't have a list of my own! But, on the plus side, I can make one! Task one : Start a list. Oh! I finished one!!! Seriously, the two things I like best are making lists and accomplishing things. What a great idea. Stopping by from SITS!

  15. Stopping by from SITS - Happy Sunday ;-) Great list of goals... I like that you have big and small ones - One of my biggest struggles is remembering that the little ones count too :-)

(If you need help with the Etsy one, maybe I can be of assistance: http://FunkyandElegant.etsy.com)
