Face it Friday! Week 12

It's been an unintentional Unplug Week.

Which turned out to be a good thing.

I thought that Spring Break would give me all the time in the world, but the fact is that it couldn't have come at a busier time.

Which was really perfect, of course.

This weekend is the two-night only Anaheim Stake performance of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

I've mentioned it once or twice in the past few weeks.

Six very short weeks.

That's all the time we've had to put it all together.

There have been rehearsals a couple times a week, keeping the music on repeat on my iPod, practicing dance moves in the kitchen.

It's been a crazy few weeks, but it's been awesome. Under the direction of my amazing friend Marly, this whole show has pulled together and I think we might even be ready when the curtain opens.

I'm a little nervous, though.

One of my 65 goals was to sing in public, and, as one of the seven brides, I'll get to scratch that one off the list this weekend.

But that's not the only reason I'm nervous.

You see, we aren't exactly doing the whole play, start to finish.

We are a bunch of amateurs, after all, and memorizing an entire play in six weeks is just...well...it's kind of a lot to ask.

To compensate for our general lack of time and...um...experience, Marly decided to tie the songs together with narration.

And then she asked me to write it.

Now, I've let people read my writing before. Heck, I do that just about every day here.

But no one has ever PERFORMED anything I wrote.

Live.

In front of people.

Eek.

So...yeah...I'm nervous.

But I get to scratch something off my list tonight. And that's exciting.

How are you all doing on your goals this week? Any big accomplishments? Link up and tell us all about it!

And be sure to check out Jennee's post, too!

  1. When you mentioned the play, you did somehow fail to mention that you were writing part of it. I'm sure it will be great. I hope you have a lot of fun performing. That's much braver than I would be.
