Getting Casual

In yesterday's post, I mentioned the Casual Blogger Conference, but it wasn't until Pam asked about it that I realized some of you have no idea what it is.

There are a lot of blogging conferences out there. BlogHer, Mom 2.0, SITS Bloggy Boot Camps. A whole lot of them.

Workshops on search engine optimization, and the new FTC guidelines, and finding an audience, and so on.

The Casual Blogger Conference has all of that. And SO MUCH MORE.

Finding your voice, taking stunning photographs, how to design your own blog so you don't have to pay a million dollars to have someone else do it for you.

(I did NOT pay a million dollars. I paid significantly less than that and am very happy with Susan's work!)

But there's something else those other conferences won't have this year.


There are going to be other awesome and wonderful speakers, too, but these four ladies--

(two of which I know in real life)

(sort of...)

(Okay, fine. One of which I just met last week and the other I haven't seen in ten years, but still.)

--are some of my favorites in the blogoverse and they are going to be AWESOME speaker-types.

Sadly, I can't go.

Planning to spend two or three weeks in South America this summer means there's not extra money in the budget right now for conference fees and airfare and whatnot.

BUT. Just because I can't go doesn't mean I can't spread the word, right?

So if you've been thinking about going to a blogging conference and want the chance to meet awesome people, and you can get to Salt Lake City at the end of May, you might want to check out CBC.

I have a feeling you won't regret it.

Plus, I have to live vicariously through someone. Why not you?

  4. Yup. it will be SUPER awesome! I will take lots of pics and post entries about it. Maybe NEXT year. Cause this year will be so flipping FANTASTIC they will have to do it again.

  6. Someday I'll make it to a blogging conference. Right now, I'm just lucky to make it to bed, so I'm not going to push it right now. But it would be awesome.
