iLove Tuesday Tunes

Hotpants from Handbags and Handguns has been doing this Tuesday Tunes meme for awhile now and I've wanted to participate, but I kept putting it off. I mean, I like music. I'm a big fan of music. But I don't feel like I have much to say on the subject because I can't really explain why I like what I like, I'm terrible at making comparisons between artists, and I am generally disgusted by the vast majority of the music industry. I would explain that statement, but you NEVER KNOW who's reading...
Anyway, I'm participating today because there is a song that has gotten a lot of airplay in my little corner of the world. A song that I really want to hate. Tried to hate. And I just can't:
Okay, first off, names should not be spelled with punctuation marks. Those are not letters. That's dumb. And annoying.
But, whatever.
The lyrics aren't anything spectacular, and Ke$ha's (shudder) voice isn't all that special or unique.
But this song is so dang catchy. It's making me crazy. I hear it first thing in the morning and then it's stuck in my head. I want it OUT of my head. And then, I don't.
Am I alone in this?

this one is stuck in my head :-) It's catchy...stupid, but catchy.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, all of her songs are catchy.
ReplyDeleteOh, and my comments are coming back! yay!
Yeah - I agree with you - names spelled with punctuation are definitely annoying!
ReplyDeleteI love guilty pleasure songs like this. Kind of like when I walked around singing Taylor Swift's You Belong with Me for a few days. There are several reasons I should not like Taylor Swift, and yet I do. Sigh!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm guessing you wouldn't approve if I started spelling my name N!kol.
ReplyDeleteI caved and got the cd. It's all catchy. I don't like her, but do like her songs.
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating!
I'm pretty sure this is the first song I've heard by her. I kind of wish I hadn't.
ReplyDeleteI really want to hate this song too! But it has such great energy and makes me want to dance.... and now I'll have the song stuck in my head all day! Thanks for that!
ReplyDeleteummmm...ok....I'll hate that song enough for both of us!
ReplyDeleteSo. I'm not at all ashamed to say I really love this song :) "woke up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy.." I mean, really. What better way to start a song, right? Ha!
ReplyDeleteI'm so out of touch with the music world...haven't heard this one. But I know what you mean about liking songs despite yourself. That's how I felt about Black Eyed Peas "I've Gotta Feeling." And many more.
ReplyDeleteI JUST wrote a post about this last week. Can't stand the $, but that song is too catchy.
ReplyDeleteI actually hate that song! We kick them to the curb unless they look like Mick Jagger? Really?
ReplyDeleteBut some of her other stupid guilty pleasure songs really suck me in. Because your love Karen? It's my drug.
I'm not digging that dollar sign in there at all and I am so mad that the beat of that song sucks you into listening to it!
ReplyDeleteDonovan loves this song too, but he's only 5 years old, so it's understandable (although I cringe every time he says "Boys try to touch my junk").
ReplyDelete"Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy"??? I wonder what P. Diddy feels like in the morning...
Wait...that didn't sound right...you know what I meant.
Nope, not alone. I love it too. Hate the punctuation mark, love the song.
ReplyDeleteOK. It's in my head now. It. Must. Go. Now. Really. Now. WOOOO-OOOOOH.
ReplyDeleteI love the song too. But I'd really love to hate it. You're not alone.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of changing my name to J@net.
I'm so out of it. I've never even heard of this "artist" nor heard the song. Then again, Idaho Falls is a little behind the times, especially when compared to CA. :) Ha ha ha!
