Face it Friday! Week 20

Face it Friday Button

I woke up this morning and groaned. Friday already?

I haven't been feeling all that great the last couple of days. The current suspicion is that my gall bladder is attacking me, though that hasn't been confirmed by a medical professional.

So I woke up this morning, trying to decide if I feel any better today, and really, REALLY wanting to stay home from work.

And then it occurred to me: this is the last Friday I have to work until AUGUST.

Our district goes to a 4-10 schedule during the summer, which starts in June, and I'll be off the next two Fridays since our building will be closed and, well, I want a vacation. And then there's the little fact that I'll be off the ENTIRE month of July so that I can go to South America and stuff.

I can suck it up and go to work today.

So, it occurred to me last week that I haven't talked much about my own progress lately. I've been focusing on posts about staying motivated and all that, which was a good reminder for me, of course, but it's been a few weeks since I've really looked at how I'm doing.

I have 16 goals that have been started or completed. Sixteen out of sixty-five. Considering that we're just a bit over a third of the way through the year, that's really not where I want to be. It's not bad, exactly. I mean, having started that many goals is a good thing. Having finished them? Also good.

But I should be in the twenties right now and I'm not.

What bothers me is that some of those goals aren't even hard or all that time consuming. I just haven't done them. I guess I've been so focused on the big stuff that I keep neglecting some of the little things.

There are a couple of recent successes I can share, though.

The first is that I've made plans for a fun day with The Nephew. I'm taking him to the zoo in a couple of weeks, when I'm off work. I'm really excited. It's gonna be a good day.

The other is that I'm making progress toward my Habitat for Humanity trip. I found a ridiculously cheap flight from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Asunción, Paraguay and I bought it. I still have to figure out how to pay for the flight to Buenos Aires, but having actual dates, times and flight numbers that I WILL be arriving in Paraguay is making this whole trip feel more real. It's going to happen and I can't wait.

I've got a lot more to work on. There are a lot of things on that list that are begging to be accomplished. And I will get to them. But, for now, I'm just going to be happy about the things that are done and what's coming up and give myself a bit of a break.

How are you doing? Link up below and tell us all about it.

And be sure to visit Jennee and check out how her week has gone.

  7. I had surgery about 4 weeks ago and was forbidden to run (which is pure torture for me). Monday I go in for a check up and my goal? To hear the doc say 5 little words: "You are cleared for running." Small, but it's what I'm shooting for! It's always good to have goals, gives you something to look forward to!

Have fun on your trip--that sounds really exciting, and thanks for stopping by my place! Happy weekend!
