Face it Friday! Week 21: LOST Edition
Friday is here again.
The semester officially ended yesterday, which means that today is my first day of vacation. Working at a college is funny because you end up measuring time in semesters, and you still get to look forward to things like Winter break, Spring Break, and Summer vacation. It's not like working out in the world where July is virtually indistinguishable from February, and you count the weeks until the next three-day weekend.
I like this schedule better.
As the semester drew to a close this week, I'll admit that I didn't get much done on my goals.
Okay, fine. I didn't get ANY of them done. It just wasn't my priority. And I don't feel bad about that at all.
Next week, I'll be off work. I'm taking The Nephew to the zoo, and I'm rearranging/organizing my bedroom and I'm gonna watch some movies and work on my novel and...
I guess I have a funny definition of the word "vacation."
Anyway, today, I'm facing something besides my lack of progress.
I'm finally facing the fact that LOST ends in two days. I'm ridiculously emotional about this. I mean, it's just a TV show, right? Life will go on, TV will continue to sometimes be worth watching, and many of my favorites will soon wander back into my DVR as they move on to other things.
So today I'm going to try not to be sad about it. I'm going to be happy to finally find out what this whole crazy busy has been about, and to see the Losties kick some serious butt.
And because I'm feeling so "happy" about this, I thought I'd share a clip from my favorite Late Night Talk Show Host that shares my LOST obsession. Hopefully you'll be able to get it to play. I've been having some troubles.

I could really use a week off work, right about now.
ReplyDeleteEvery time I think about summer vacation, winter break, spring break, etc, I think that I really have gone into the wrong field.
ReplyDeleteThat clip is hilarious! I'm right there with you - I am so bummed it's down to the end :( It sounds like you have a nice chunk of time to spend however you want - enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteI complain about my work a lot, but you're right, being in the education field DOES allow much more time off than many other jobs. I'm not off during the summer, but I do take two weeks vacation. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteUgh, I'm not doing too well on my goals. Arghhh!
ReplyDeleteGreat clip. I just now set my DVR to record Jimmy Kimmel's show tonight after the Lost finale. I'm actually really looking forward to the finale. I want ANSWERS! I'm really hope this show is going to connect all the dots for me. *fingers crossed*
ReplyDeletesounds like you're lost with your goals right now! hehe
