Meme Monday: LOST Style
And in honor of this, the very last week before we know everything we're ever going to know about the best show about plane crash survivors stranded on a time-traveling island in the history of television, we're going to have LOST-themed posts each day.
Today, it's a meme!
And I'd love to tag some of you, but since I don't know who watches and who
4. How do you feel about the end of LOST?
I don't know. Every time I think I'm feeling okay about it, I see the commercial for the "last episode before the end" and I get all sad again. There *might* even have been a tear or two. Maybe. I'm excited to know how it all ends, and to find out how everything turns out for all the characters. But I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the fact that this is it. There are no more seasons. There is no more Jack Shepherd on my TV. I'm sad.
8. Who is your favorite character and why?
I know this will come as a big shock, but my fave is Dr. Jack Shepherd. And not just because of this face:
I love Jack. On the outside, he looks like he's got everything together. In the beginning, he took charge. It wasn't long before everyone turned to him for guidance. Jack's not so together, though. He's a mess. He's got a history that includes daddy issues, a broken marriage, and an unfortunately unresolved mysterious trip to Hong Kong. While I love Jack when he's stable and in charge, I love him just as much, if not more, when he's an emotional wreck. I just want to give him a big hug and tell him everything's gonna be okay. He'd better get to live happily ever after.
15. Which Lostie is your least favorite?
Claire. She always bugged me, but this weekend I watched season one again and I had forgotten how completely annoying she was. Honestly, I thought about counting how many times she said "pregnant" and "baby" in the first season, but I can't count that high. And now she's just plain crazy. Which would be sort of okay if I didn't have the constant urge to rip the awful wig off her head.
16. Which deceased character do you wish had lived?
Part of me really wants to say Charlie. Because I loved Charlie. But he needed to sacrifice himself and his death was ultimately honorable and important. So...I'm going with Libby. Because her death was unnecessary, and because I want Hurley to be happy and he really loved Libby.
Part of me also thinks it might have been an interesting dynamic if the marshal escorting Kate had lived. How awkward would that be when he realized they weren't getting rescued and he's got this prisoner to deal with?
23. Which is your favorite moment/episode?
I never get tired of Hurley's Golf Course. That one was a classic. I also loved "Greatest Hits." I have never cried as much during an episode as I did when Charlie died, but it was so beautiful. He definitely got the best death in what I think was one of the best episodes of the series.
42. What is your biggest question heading into the finale?
Why did Jacob choose THEM?
And where, exactly, are Jacob and "Esau" from?
108. Prediction time: Who's going to be the new Jacob?
Hmmm...I've heard some good predictions and some very good reasons why it might be either Locke or Hurley or Jack. Or even Desmond. I say Juliet's bomb worked and the island is at the bottom of the ocean. No more island equals no new Jacob equals everyone goes on to live their sideways lives. Whatever happens, I just want Jack and Kate to end up together.
All right! I know many of you don't watch LOST, and if you actually made it through all of this, then wow! Thanks! If you do watch, feel free to grab this meme. I'd really love to hear what you all think!

I had fun reading your post, but I am Lost.
ReplyDeleteI love LOST! And I love this post.
ReplyDeleteCharlie's storyline- one of my faves. Although the Sun and Jin storyline has been the most emotional for me all along. Sun and Jin are my fave characters, maybe. I really liked Rose and her husband, too.
And I have loved Hurley and Libby's story in the "alternate" universe or whatever it is.
I really have no idea how they can possibly wrap everything up for us... not without some sort of 6 hour movie or something! Maybe, after the finale, they can air a "Guide to the Answers of LOST" to really explain it all and verify timeline and such. :)
I have watched probably an episode and a half of lost during the time I lived at my sister's house. I do feel like I have watched more however since a chatty volunteer at the library where I used to work would ask me every time we were eating lunch together if I watched Lost. I would tell her I didn't, and then she would immediately turn around and ask me my theories and opinions on various plot points. It sounds like a good show, but I just couldn't commit to it.
ReplyDeleteI think Jack is going to take Jacobs place. I'm wondering WHY Esau can't get off the island and HOW their mother made it so that J&E couldn't hurt each other. I wish Jin & Sun had lived, but maybe if Charlie had lived he could have kept Claire from going insane.
ReplyDeleteI truly wish that I had started watching this show in the beginning. It's too late for me now. :(
ReplyDeleteI'll be answering your call later today. Is there a place I should link up? Or are you just going to remember to check me out? Because it's going to be awesome.
ReplyDeleteOh, I talk such big game.
I really hope Kate dies. Can't stand her. But Claire is a close second.
ReplyDeleteI love this post! I love Jack too! I seriously hope that he has a happy ending but I have a feeling that he wont. With his name being Shepard and Sayid saying "it is going to be you", I think that he will be the new Jacob. I've actually thought that perhaps everyone on the island will have to die in order to live in the flash-sideways universe and that Jack will have to die in the flash-sideways universe in order to stay on the island and become the new Jacob. Jacob the Protector of the Island = Jack Shepard.
ReplyDeleteReading this, I have realized I have no clue about the plot! lol
ReplyDeleteOMGosh! I am so torn about the end! I mean, I want to know all of the answers, but... really? How are they going to answer ALL of those questions? I just don't want to see it end. It has been so entertaining, especially when Jack or Sawyer's biceps were involved :) Great post!!
ReplyDeleteOh, this makes me all excited again about watching Lost. I'm excited to get more answers, but wish there would be more to watch. I'm still sad that Charlie died. I can't believe they killed him off. But I'm pretty sad about everyone who died. I'm really sad about how Saiad turned out. He was a bad guy who was really a good guy who just needed the chance, but then turns out evil at the end (even if he did save everyone). Ahh...
ReplyDeleteClarie is also my least favorite. She's so whiney.
I have watched every single episode of Lost and would love to play along. BUT, this show is so darn confusing I'm not sure I could even answer some of these questions. I swear I'm still trying to keep all the storylines straight. For example: Juliet built a bomb? REALLY! I simply do not remember that. I don't think I'm smart enough for this show.
ReplyDeleteI do agree that Jack is my favorite character and I'd like him and Kate to be together. And Claire's wig is horrible. But, why was Charlie's death "noble"? I didn't get that. And who is "Esau"? Is he Jacob's brother (the evil one). I thought his name was Michael? See. I'm so confused. Whether or not the finale answers all the questions, I will still have a million of them, because I simply can not keep this story straight. ARGH!
Oh how I wish I could follow you this week...meanwhile, Chuck was a great episode. :)
ReplyDeleteOk I had to quickly scroll through and click on the comment link super fast! Why? Because somehow I've managed to not watch a single episode of Lost this final season and still haven't learned anything about what's going on. I want to keep it that way! I don't have cable and have been meaning to watch online, but geez times just flies right by :P
ReplyDeleteAnywho, just wanted to pop in and say hi!
Hey there! I thought this would be a fun idea for your Lost finale party. http://maxpictures.com/weblog/2007/04/10/lost-labels-for-your-dharma-initiative-needs/
ReplyDeleteI love Charlie, what a great character. I was very sad when he died and that's about the time I gave up watching the show. I wish I had stuck with it though, it just frustrated me too much because I couldn't figure it out lol.
