Meme Monday: Love
It's been a few weeks, but I was tagged by Gina! This is one of those awards where you list ten things you love and then tag some more friends. So, here we go:
1. I love Memorial Day. Not just because it's a day off work, but because it's always a great time to spend with family and friends and to remember those that sacrificed so much so that we could be free.
2. I love the internet. Not only is a great way to connect with friends through blogging and social media and whatnot, it's got this plethora of resources. This weekend, I had to fill out paperwork for a background check and couldn't remember a few of my old addresses or the locations of a few of my former employers. Just a couple of clicks and I had all the information I needed. And in a few minutes, I'll be looking up a recipe so that I can finish my goal of baking a pie from scratch.
3. I love Blog Frog. I'm still trying to figure it out, but it's a fun way to connect with other bloggers through forums and communities. In fact, you can join my community by clicking the button over to the right. And then join me in the forums for some fun conversation!
4. I love the new configuration for my room. I rearranged EVERYTHING and now my desk and computer face right out the window. I have a view! Now I just have to finish finding a place for all this junk...
5. I love blue skies and chirping birds. It's all so happy and quiet this morning. Such a great day!
6. I love these fun baskets I just found at Target. I'm trying to brighten things up a bit and they work great. Wish I could find a picture online and I'm too lazy to take a picture myself. Sorry. Just trust me. They're cute.
7. I love playing D&D with my friends. It's the nerdiest/geekiest thing about me and I still usually feel silly admitting that I play, but it's seriously so much fun. And NO. We are not LARPing.
8. I love hanging out with my Job's Daughters. We had a really fun activity last weekend, and then an awesome meeting this week. I'm so proud of my girls!
9. I love my family. I don't see or talk to them as often as I want, and things are definitely not perfect. But they're my family and I love them all. My mom's always supportive, even when she doesn't agree with me. My brother and sister-in-law are awesome people, great parents, and always fun to hang out with. Plus I love that we agree on most of the important stuff, politically speaking. We're working on The Nephew.
10. I love my friends. I love my real-life friends and my blog friends alike. Even though I may never have the chance to meet most of you, I feel like I know you as well as if we hung out every day. And the ones I see on a regular basis, y'all have helped me become the person I am today. I think our friends influence just as much, and sometimes more than, our own families.
And now I get to tag ten people. Just remember, if you're reading this, I already think you're awesome and you can consider yourself tagged, even if you aren't on the list. But I'm tagging...
Jennee @ Cheap Therapy
Emily @ Emily's Thought Blog
Katherine @ The Katherine Wheel
Regina @ All Things Me
Melanie J @ Write Stuff
Sarah @ Welling's World
Kim @ The Mommy Machine
Shorty @ Securityville
Janet @ Stuff I Think About
Rene @ ReneW Your Space
Kathy @ Just a Happy Housewife
Oh...was that 11? Oops!
Anyway, I hope you all have a great Memorial Day. And while you're in the middle of bbq's and beach trips and killer sales at the mall, I hope you'll take a moment or two to think about all the brave men and women that truly gave us something to celebrate.

Rustin Banks, the owner/creator of Blog Frog was at the CBC this weekend, and accosted me for his class. He went through how everything worked. And I was the guinea pig. Which means I now have a Blog Frog community, which was done for about 80 women to see. I am sort of freaking out, but I think it will be fun!
ReplyDeletehope youre having a great day!
ReplyDeleteLoved your responses! That's great that you've gotten your workspace all snazzed. It makes such a difference when you can work in a relaxing and beautiful area.
ReplyDeleteThanks for tagging me! Happy Memorial Day!
Thanks! I've heard about Blog Frog. Is it bad that I'm purposefully avoiding it, like I am Twitter, because I know that I'll love it and the last thing I need is more things on the internet that I love?
ReplyDeleteYour list made me smile!
ReplyDeleteKaren, Glad I found your blog through WOW. Good reading AND, if you are the one who illustrated your banner, then you also are the Karen who illustrated the gift book I co-authored, published by Penguin in 05. "Stuck On You: Do It Yourself Dating Patches for the Single Girl." Is that you??? Inquiring minds want to know!!!
ReplyDeleteNow I'm dying to know what your D&D character is.
ReplyDeleteFun post. I love the Internet, too. I'm glad you tagged me. I'll get right to it. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to start my week! Thanks so much, Karen!!
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks! I will post on this soon. I'm kind of a slacker these past couple weeks!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm just now trying to figure out the whole appeal of Twitter and you just had to go throw Blog Frog into the mix. I think I must have a community because I keep getting notices that so and so is my new BFF. Geez, all this techo stuff needs to slow down!
ReplyDeleteOooh, I like this tag. I'm going to cogitate on things I love now.
ReplyDeleteLove your list!!
ReplyDeleteSo I'm trying to figure out BF & Twitter... and LINKY???
I TRIED to go to the Blog Frog Class Kristina P was talking about... yeah... FULL!! *sigh* I remain clueless and trying to find my way in the cyber world... I'm trying more and getting better, though. ;D
(((HUGS)))
I think I'll just copy and paste your list for mine. I finally signed up for blogfrog and haven't been back since I've signed up...guess that's on my list of things to do today.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that your tag did not have a time limit with self-destruction at the end...b/c I'm just finding it! *gheesh*
ReplyDeleteI am SO touched!
LARPing! I think we're on the verge of that sometimes around here. Wanna play Rapunzel anyone?
