Guest Post: My Utah BFF
Wow, Karen what can I say? To say I’m honored to be doing a guest post is an understatement. In the future when you are a New York Times Bestselling Author and know the world around, I can say, “I knew her when!” Plus, you already are a full out blog super star know the world around- just check to see where people are stopping by to have a peek! They are always coming from exotic locations like St. George, Utah (I joke!)
Karen is always ready for adventure and together we have had so many! Ahh, the U2 concert, my best memory of all time to date (le sigh). We have literally been from coast to coast together- like the time I thought this small patch of grass was Central Park while looking down from the Empire State Building and everyone around us snickered when Karen pointed out the real Central Park (which is, evidently, HUGE) to lazy sun filled days with feet in the sand on the palm tree lined perfection that is the beaches of California. But you know, we never really have to go very far to enjoy such adventures. Sometimes the best is just watching Desperate Housewives with popcorn & M& Ms while each lying on our own personal couch when we were roommates. Or going to the Kaysville movie theatre, where I may or may not have “helped” someone get off the phone with their kid because the movie was starting and the rest of the theatre cheered because seriously people, who answers their phone in the middle of the freaking movies? Or even just a leisurely Saturday late night car ride down the “Boulevard” where we may or may not have rolled down our window and talked to those much younger, inexperienced mere boys while blaring Bon Jovi full blast and then asking them if they even know who Bon Jovi was (which they didn’t- SHAME ON THEM!!!), and then if they would like to Bon Jovi me (which they assuredly didn’t) and then we sped off into the night giggling like we were 12. I still say it’s not too late to rent those nun costumes and do it again.
Oh Kar, I’m so glad the good times still roll with us. Now will you PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE cross off number 38 on your goal list, and maybe while you’re here we can accomplish 50, 62, and probably even #66 which you could add on that should be do nothing but watch the fountains at the Bellagio for one hour one night in Vegas. Now enjoy your trip and I can’t wait to hear ALL ABOUT IT! Love ya, Kel

Anyone who doesn't know who Bon Jovi is should be tortured.
ReplyDeleteAnd just when I'd gotten over my "Bon Jovi YouTube" addiction, I fear you may have started it again.
Damn.
Oh Kelli!! How ARE you??? Are you the one that came to NYC with Karen in 2006??? I was there and I have our awesome Mormon Gals picture! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteHow nice for you to be a part of Karen'd AWESOME blog!! ;D
No Confession link up this week... Oh well... I played anyway... (((HUGS)))
Sounds like you and Karen know how to really enjoy each other's company. Friendships where you can really let loose and be silly are so important!!
ReplyDeleteScoMan took the words right out of my mouth, but then I am from New Jersey where the members of Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen and pretty much anyone who has ever been on The Sopranos are revered as local deities.
ReplyDeleteI want to come hang out with the two of you!
ReplyDelete---And when Karen visits Kelli in St George, both can get in the car and drive north! We could easily cross #33 off the list. Parks in K-town are very small, not near as big as Central Park. And then we can go to my driver training and cross #47 off the list. I have to get CPR certified again this year. There's always room for more!
ReplyDeleteAww...come on! You know you want to!!
Nun costumes?!
ReplyDelete"like to Bon Jovi me.." hee hee
Another guest post proving that Karen is just awesome. I'm loving the guest posts, but honestly, when will Karen be back? The blogging world needs you.
ReplyDeleteOkay someone didn't know who Bon Jovi was??? Oh my!!! That is crazy!!!
ReplyDeleteI say we take him down to the docks and let Tommy have his way with him.....did he EVER get that gun out of hawk?
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your comments everyone! :) Holly- can you believe that Patrick Wilson brought us champagne and we did nothing about it! I gotta see that pic! Nice to hear from you friend! Gina, you can come hang any time. Roberta, it'd be great to see you again...And yes, it is unbelievable that someone would not know who the amazing artists still know as Bon Jovi are and their music that changed the world!
