The Word "Titular" Makes Me Giggle
Anyway, I finally accepted that yesterday was Tuesday and today is Wednesday, but to confuse myself even more, I'm forgoing my usual Confession Wednesday post for two reasons: a) I'm still kind of digging this SITS Back 2 Blogging Challenge--
(even though I am stunned at how many SITStas do NOT return visits...Isn't that the point of SITS?)
--and 2) I...couldn't really think of a good topic for this week.
(I've started a discussion in my Blog Frog forum, so if you have any Confession Wednesday topic suggestions, please visit and share!)
Anyway, today's Back 2 Blogging topic is to share a post with a title you're particularly proud of.
Titling my posts is often a challenge. Sometimes, the perfect title will just fall into my head and everything is great. Other times, I'll write the entire post and then have to save it as a draft because I just don't know what to call it.
I think the intention of today's challenge is to just repost something with a great title, but I'm not always such a fan of following the "rules," so I'm going to link a couple of my favorites. If they sound interesting and you don't remember reading them before, check them out and tell me what you think:
William Shakespeare, Henry Ford, and Jesus Walk Into a Social Networking Site
The Man They Called Jayne...Or in this Case Steven Slater
What Do You Mean You're Busy? You're Single!
Now I know some of you have some GREAT posts and even GREATER titles. Maybe you should think about joining in the fun today!
Did I mention you might get to take home Thelma & Louise?

After scanning through my posts one title made me laugh, which is rare because I don't often make myself laugh, which is strange because I am a funny guy.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, the title of my post I liked was "Told You How I F****** Your Mother"
I liked it because it's not my usual, and I like the idea of people seeing it as a bit strange.
I've been feeling drawn back to SITS which is strange because I left it in a huff before I even had my special SITS day.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to use titular in a sentence now and couldn't do it.
I've got problems!
What! No confession Wednesday? I guess I just have to blog with my plan B. I love the Shakespeare, Jesus walked into a social networking site.... Classic. I keep telling my mom that titles will make or break the blog...or atleast if it will be read or not. No pressure, right?

ReplyDeleteYou know me and my punny titles!
ReplyDeleteYour titles always catch my attention, Karen. You do a great job with that.
ReplyDeleteI'm terrible at coming up with titles! Always!
ReplyDeleteI'm horrible at this. I rarely have good titles for my posts. You mention typing a post and saving it as a draft...all my posts do this.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of SITS Back 2 Blogging, but since I just got back in town, and have internet again, I'm a little late.
I don't do puns :)
ReplyDeleteYes, as Jennee pointed out, this is not my strong suit. I went back and read my titles. Nothing very exciting there. I will have to work on that.
ReplyDeleteI SO want to join in on that challenge, but it's been quite a challenge getting back to blogging after this hectic month (or two)! Those blog titles are defenately great ones :)
ReplyDeleteI found this to be interesting. I like the title for "What Do You Mean Your Busy? You're Single." The title has me dying to read it (which I will after posting this.
ReplyDeleteI don't really have a title in my blog that would really stand out I don't think. So instead I will devour the ones you all put up. I am sure I am in for a treat.
Have a great night. Btw...What is the challenge you mentioned??
I like a lot of my titles actually, but they tend to reference obscure things many people may not recognize. Oh, well.
ReplyDeleteI've had the same frustrations with SITS lately. And they haven't been officially doing the "Saturday Sharefest" every Saturday. I still go most Sat's and post and comment on the one above me, but people don't always return the favor, as you said.
My favorite post title is 'Halloweenie'.
ReplyDeleteIt's about (duh!) Halloween and hitting a jerk where it counts - thus the weenie reference. lol! I already reposted it last Halloween.
I'm always thinking Thursday is Friday ... wishful thinking, I suppose.
ReplyDeleteOver and over I hear that we should plan our post titles with SEO in mind but being so calculated about it just does not appeal to me. Seems better if it comes with a bit of heart or humor or mystery.
Now I am totally going to see what Shakespeare and Jesus had to say on Facebook. Or is it Twitter?
Before the SITS challenge, I didn't really think much about my titles. Heck I just started blogging 2 weeks ago! Now it seems I am spending a lot of time on that, besides reading everyone's blogs, clicking on each blog's blog fav and trying to comment, it is an endless but rewarding job! Love your post!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you stopped by my blog too! I hope you can make it to the Halloween Blog Hop Party, invite is on my blog~Lisa
