Karen's Blog of the Week: Nerdville Rhapsody!

I hope you're all on your way to making a full recovery from food comas and football depression and the bruises and scrapes of Black Friday outings and that you are finding great ways to spend the remaining hours of the holiday weekend.

There will be plenty of time for catching up and visiting and stuff, but right now, it's time for a new Blog of the Week. And this week's pick is Kelly Dexter from Nerdville Rhapsody!

I "met" Kelly a few months back, thanks to a Google Alert.

(I'm telling you. Those things are REALLY useful.

First, I was taken in by her blog title. I mean, Nerdville Rhapsody? I knew immediately she was SO my people. She loves so many of the things I love. Star Wars and The Hunger Games and Brandon Flowers and The Lord of the RingsHarry Potter, Disney, and...well, SO much more. It's actually kind of creepy how much we have in common. She's also a writer with an agent and everything.

Kelly was bound to have a flaw, though. Thankfully, she's cool enough that I can overlook the fact that she's a Red Sox fan. As long as she keeps posting trailers of Daniel Craig movies.

So, get thee to Kelly's blog immediately. Because she is proving that nerds are cool.

Just in time for the conclusion of NaNoWriMo (at which I failed epically), Nathan Bransford shared this hilarious take on Dante's Inferno. He calls it the Nine Circles of Writing Hell.

Stepfanie at the Lady Bloggers Society had this insightful post on how facing the likelihood of failure can do more for us than dreaming of success.

The Lovely One at Looking for Luck, Love and... shared this cautionary tale about why you should be careful what you write about on your blog.

Dorkys Ramos from Dry as Toast shared this insight into learning how to "fight" with her boyfriend. I hate when I have to admit I'm one of "those girls."

And Shop Girl from I Heart My Shoes wrote this post about Christmas shopping that sums up what I love about the annual tradition.

Finally,

The Comment of the Week goes to:
Is it wrong that I hope for a similar keyword search that leads to my blog? I need to slip the word 'lesbian' more often into my blogposts :P

Thanks for making it a great week, everyone! Now haul out the holly, start wrapping those gifts and baking those cookies because it's Christmas Time!

  4. Thanks for the mention, Karen :) Kelly's blog is all kinds of awesome, and I love the questions she opens up for her followers. My favourite so far is 'which sci-fi/fantasy occupation would you like to have?' It excites the geek cells :)
