Predicting the Globes
Mostly because many of the big awards are pretty figured out in a series of pre-cursor awards when Oscar time rolls around and the Golden Globes are sort of the unofficial start to that.
But also because the Golden Globes are chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press. A small, crony-ish group of reporters for foreign news agencies. And they are so fickle and tough to pin down.
So my accuracy rate at the Globes is pretty low, but I'm going to give it a go anyway. I'm only listing who I think will win in each category. If you want to see the full list of nominees, you can click here.

The Golden Globes are this Sunday, my friends! And you can bet that I'll be play-by-playing all the action.
Even though I'm REALLY grumpy that Gervais moron is hosting again...
You are awesome. And if you share this post, you'll be even awesomer!

Guess I need to up my movie and TV watching, because most of those I've never seen. Tintin will probably win, but think I'd go out on a limb and say Rango for best animation.
ReplyDeleteI need to see the Descendents. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you're right about Viola Davis. She was so great in The Help.
ReplyDeleteWhat Alex said...
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you posted this. You reminded me that there are quite a few movies I need to add to my Netflix queue - even though I rarely g et around to watching them. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I actually love Ricky Gervais. I loved him in the British original of The Office. I did not see the Golden Globes last year and I do know that he was quite controversial. I've seen some recent interviews with him concerning this and I have to agree he seems somewhat clueless about why his jokes were offensive. I'm hoping to watch this year and see for myself. I hope I don't end up hating him.
Its terribly embarrassing that I haven't seen a single movie/Tv series on this list. I have some catching up to do! Midnight in Paris is at the top of that list. I don't hate Dicky Gervais... I find him somewhat entertaining and hope he can breathe some life into this awards show.
ReplyDeleteUgh... did my comment disappear!? Anyway... I haven't seen a single Tv show/movie on this list, sadly. Have much catching up to do... at the top of that list is Midnight in Paris. And I don't mind Gervais...at least he's entertaining and I hope he can breathe some life into the awards show.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I hope you're wrong about best actress in a comedy. I'm shooting for Zooey!
ReplyDeleteI really want to see The Descendants. Also, I'm really glad Matt LeBlanc one. He looked so surprised.
