Happy Presidents('?) Day

I'm celebrating our nation's 44 Presidents at the movies. Watching stuff blow up.

How about you?

PS: I'm not referring to our current President as a douche bag. Just to be clear.

PPS: Although, yes, I do still have my Romney/Ryan sticker on the back of my car.

I wish healtcare recognized more holidays. But apparently, people still would like their surgeries and such, even on a holiday.

Family Day here in Ontario. Spending it, fittingly, with my family watching the Ottawa Senators play the New Jersey Devils. Tonight is my daughter's first tryout for a competitve soccer team and I am very anxious about that.

You have a presidents day.............wow didn't know that we don't have a special day to remember our PM's but then we are not into remember them as much as you are into remembering your presidents.......most people in Aus couldn't tell you who our first PM was in case you are interested it was Edmund Barton who served from the 1st January 1901 to sometime in 1903.......

I think most of the presidents are at least a little tiny bit douchey. Even Obama. I think it is a requirement when you become a politician. :)

What I Just Watched at the Theater

Oblivion--One heck of an awesome movie! Tom Cruise does it again! Awesome effects, fascinating story, and Morgan Freeman. What more could you want?
Star Trek Into Darkness--Wow, wow, wow. Seriously, so awesome. Great story, really brings the characters back in a great way. Loved it.
The Great Gatsby--Beautiful. Loved it. Loved the emotional depth and the visual imagery and the actors and the costumes and the music. I wish Daisy's selfishness had been a little more obvious, but otherwise, I thought it was fantastic.
The Hangover Part 3--It can't possibly live up to the third, but was still darned funny. And surprisingly clean. Except for language, of course.

What I Just Finished Reading

Single Infertile Female by Leah Campbell--Another memoir, this time about a single woman who fights against impending infertility to try to become a mother. Loved it.
One Year Lived by Adam Shepard--Inspiring and fun story about a guy that spends a year traveling the world, doing service, and meeting the love of his life. It's a memoir, and a fun one.
Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick-- Somewhat different from the movie, but really good. The story is told in first person, present tense, so you really get a sense of being in Pat's head and understand how he feels and what goes through his mind. Quick read, too.
