Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, and every year I like to get into the mood-extend the holiday, when it were-by reading "Thanksgiving novels." Of course, most of these stories are mostly about family, about coming together to heal old hurts and giving them thanks for the gift of love. . . ##

I have a yummy and easy cranberry sauce recipe. We never had cranberry sauce as part of our holiday meals until I opted to make this one year and now it is a DEMANDED part of the meal- with family members asking me to make extra batches for them to take with them!

1 can jellied cranberry sauce

1-2 c chopped cranberries (quantity just depends on preference)

1 jar Simply Fruit orange marmalade

optional- 1 small bag chopped walnuts (I tend to chop them even further)

Heat can of sauce. Add chopped cranberries. Once cranberries are tender, add marmalade and walnuts. Heat until chopped cranberries are soft and showing no white. Serve chilled.

I love to eat too. It's one of my hobbies...but I need to find another hobby soon cause my clothes are getting a little snug. I'm sure those are great recipes but I don't care for cranberry sauce or pumpkin. My mom hates fixing our holiday meals because I'm not crazy about traditional holiday foods...but she refuses to make the food I suggest. "We have to have turkey and stuffing!" I asked if we could have mexician this year. :(

OK, so I'm a little worried about the last recipe -- it might take me a few tries to get it right. That sort of technique isn't something you just learn overnight. Funny Twilight parody, too -- I haven't seen that one yet. Can I safely assume you've seen this one? These parodies are seriously making me die laughing -- and I love Twilight! [side note: the Twilight books, not the movies... though I AM seeing the midnight showing of New Moon tonight in the hopes that somehow they've managed to redeem themselves from the atrocity that was the first movie)

Thanks for the cranberry sauce recipe. I am going to try it this year. Even when we use cranberry sauce from the can, we always add something to it, like candied orange peel or spices. But I'm excited to try it completely from scratch this year.
