I have the same viewpoints on movies with animals. I always think the same things and have a hard time watching animals suffer.

I don't think I've seen any of the Best Pictures nominees, but I don't even know because I don't know what they are. I haven't heard of the two you mentioned, though. How monumentally sad is that?

I think it's healthy to be uncomfortable seeing animals suffer.

I liked that book! I think you need to be totally awake to read it though, as I had a bit of a hard time deciphering the Nordstroms from the Eckstroms and the Balstroms.

Haha! I love this! And it is not weird to hate seeing animals suffer. In fact Brian said in his film classes he learned that audiences would prefer to see the lead actor/actress die than for the dog to die. Strange but true.

p.s. What else are you supposed to do with M&M's besides eat them? Look at them? Play with them?
